Who We Are

The PHYSIOTHERAPY CARE CLINICS feel our role goes further than just returning you to good health and this is why we take the time to educate you about your condition and explain to you what you need to do to help prevent a future recurrence. For this reason we have books, pamphlets, supports and strapping tapes available, as may be required to achieve this. After all, PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.

The Physiotherapy Care Clinic operates practices in Browns Bay and Mairangi Bay. We have a team of highly qualified and experienced physiotherapists led by directors Suzanne McKenzie, Kirsty Speedy and Ian Lyness.

We are ACC endorsed providers dedicated to promoting fitness and wellness through physical care in the community. We are also a HDANZ Accredited Health provider, which ensures that we comply with the Allied Health Sector standards for client care and clinic management.

OUR SELF HELP POLICY

Our aim is to get you back into good physical health as soon as possible. To help us achieve this we strongly encourage our patients to help themselves. There is almost always something you can do to help your problem and we take the time to advise you of this.

REFERRALS

Referral from a medical practitioner is not essential to receive treatment. You are able to fill out an ACC form, if appropriate, at our clinic. Your physiotherapist will inform you if you are entitled to apply for ACC. If time off work or medication is required you will need to see your GP.

APPOINTMENT TIMES

You will need to set aside 45 minutes for your initial appointment and 30 minutes for follow up treatments.

APPOINTMENTS

For your convenience and ours, we aim to be on time. Please be punctual or contact our reception as early as possible to rearrange your appointment.

Here are our Fees

CONSULTANCY FEES

You can come directly to us whether or not your injury is covered by ACC. If your injury, discomfort or pain is caused by an accident you may be entitled to cover under ACC. You can fill in ACC forms at our clinic without needing to see your GP first. If we have any concerns about your injury we will contact your GP. If necessary we are able to refer you for scans and XRays.

Co-payments Under ACC

Our Clinic employs experienced practitioners who have spent 1-3 years of additional training in post graduate diplomas and degrees and attend annual ongoing training courses. The clinic has been audited and certified against a robust set of systems and standards to become a fully accredited practice. ACC does not adequately cover the costs of providing this high quality service therefore we charge a co-payment to our patients.

How to make a claim:

Step 1: Fill out an ACC45 claim form (available at the Physiotherapy clinic)

Step 2: Your Physiotherapist will send the form to ACC for processing

Step 3: ACC will contact you about your claim to let you know if it has been accepted or declined

About ACC

If you have an accident or get injured, ACC helps pay for your Physiotherapy treatment. It doesn’t matter if your injury happens at work, outside, at home or when you’re playing sport. You can still get help from ACC.

What do you have to pay?

As ACC only pays a portion of the full cost of your physiotherapy treatment, a co-payment as outlined above needs to be paid at the time of each treatment.

Southern Cross Easy Claim

We can process your payment electronically if you are an eligible Southern Cross member.
